Mr. Chairman. I rise today to support HR 4437. the Border Protection. Antiterrorism and Illegal Immigration Control Act. The debate over our nations immigration policy has steadily moved from the back of the newspaper to the front page. I should know. Ive been working on this issue since I first came to the House of Representatives in Americans are rightly concerned about the security and the integrity of our nations borders because the very system designed to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into our country is broken. Current statistics estimate that we now have at least 10 million illegal aliens in this country. Mr. Chairman. if we are going to fix this system. it is important that we fix it in the right way. comprehensively. so that we are not back debating this issue within a year.
