I was informed that two young men that had just come back from Iraq. two young men that I have gotten to know because their father a long time ago came into this country as a bracero. he overstayed. raised a family here. and under the provisions and amendments that are proposed in this legislation. those two young men would be ineligible to be U.S. citizens. But. oh. yes. by the way. that is okay that they can go to Iraq and fight for the principles and for the rights of all people in this country. This is a terrible bill. I am opposed to it. I recommend that all our colleagues oppose it. Let us talk about doing a better job for this country by doing a better job with immigration.
