Filipinos and Americans of Filipino ancestry are assuming positions of power and responsibility in the State and in the private sector. Filipinos have made their mark on United States soil since they started arriving 100 years ago. and the momentum continues to make that mark even greater and will continue to do so in the years to come. I urge all Members to join me in recognizing the numerous contributions that the FilipinoAmerican population has made in the United States and celebrate the centennial of sustained immigration from the Philippines to the United States.
