Mr. Speaker. I rise today in support of H. Res. 487. supporting the goals and ideals of KoreanAmerican Day. This important resolution also recognizes the 103rd anniversary of the arrival of the first Korean immigrants to the United States. In January 1903 the first Korean immigrants came to the United States. Since then. KoreanAmericans have raised families. partici51. Pt. 21 27997 pated in their communities. and contributed to the economy. I am proud to represent the thousands of KoreanAmericans living in my congressional district. These hardworking individuals have started numerous businesses which help to strengthen the economy of New York City.
