Various management problems in support for welfarism motivates those who argue for only a little sacrifice of freedom to achieve a greater good for society. Each effort to undermine our privacy is easily justified. The national I.D. card is needed. it is said. to detect illegal aliens. yet all Americans will need it to open up a bank account. get a job. fly on an airplane. see a doctor. go to school or drive a car. Financial privacy must be sacrificed. it is argued. in order to catch money launderers. drug dealers. mobsters and tax cheats. Privacy for privacys sake. unfortunately for many. is a nonissue.
