And the HlB workers are afraid if they complain. they could lose their jobs and then have to leave the country. American workers are afraid they will be blackballed in the industry if they complain. So this amendment offers them the whistleblower protection. and it penalizes employers if they retaliate against a whistleblower. So whether the whistleblowers are HlB workers or affected American workers. the employer cannot retaliate against them. In addition. under my amendment workers who filed a successful complaint against an employer can switch jobs if they wish and still remain in the United States for the duration of their visa. They just have to let the INS know their new address.
