Mr. Speaker. I rise in support of legislation commemorating Israels fiftieth anniversary. The rebirth of Israel in this century is a modern day miracle. Jews from every continent have built a new nation. ancient in history. with a vibrant democracy and a modern economy. Israel represents the rebirth of a nation. a people. and the Hebrew language. The building of a new nation with immigrants from societies as diverse as Russia. Poland. Morocco. Argentina. India. and Ethiopia is a challenge we as Americans recognize and celebrate. The achievements in this regard are truly impressive. Israel has made the desert bloom. has an exemplary education system and a growing economy.
