I am a product of civil rights laws. Many of my constituents. many Americans. are the product of civil rights laws. Hispanic Americans who recently have seen a flood of legislation dealing with immigration laws. dealing with laws regarding their voting privileges and as we look toward the renewal of the Voter Rights Act of 1965. our civil rights are being impacted every single day. The working men and women of the 18th Congressional District and of this Nation are impacted by labor rights. All of us. every single day. are impacted by environmental protection laws as implemented under the laws of this Nation.
