Mr. Speaker. I would like to refer to the testimony of Richard Bryce. the undersheriff of Ventura County Sheriffs Department. In the subcommittee hearing Mr. Bryce stated. and I quote. to truly understand the benefit of such a program. it is Important to realize the type of persons it identifies. The criminals. who the INS agents have determined are illegal aliens. include drug dealers. gang members involved in driveby shootings. rapists. and murderers. Many of them have a long history of criminal activity. Mr. Speaker. I thank the gentleman from New York for his bipartisan approach to working with this legislation. the gentleman from Texas for speaking on it. and many of the other Members on the other side of the aisle.
