I also join many of my colleagues in expressing my hope that more can be done. As we proceed with legislation to implement this agreement. I hope that we can find ways to ensure that immigrants who fall on hard times and have no sponsors to fall back on can still get help. I am particularly concerned about elderly immigrants and immigrant children. So I commend my colleagues for their leaderhip in bringing this amendment before the Senate. We have made progress in restoring assistance to immigrants under this budget agreement. and I look forward to working with them on this important issue in the days ahead.
