Twenty6ixyearold Leonin Ojeda Rivas also died after complaining of chest pains soon after trying to swim toward a passing ship in a desperate attempt to be rescued. Mr. Speaker. the tragic search of these Cuban refugees for freedom portrays the picture of desperation that the Cuban people feel under the Castro dictatorship. Unfortunately. the American people never learned of this story in the socalled mainstream media. It was not in the major newspapers. nor in the television networks.
