Speech #1050031522

But we cannot let the perfect be the enemy of the good and there are many good things In this budget: 335 billion in tuition tax credits. and tax deductions to help working families send their kids to college is a very good thing. Increasing Pell grants by $300 for over 300.000 additional young people is a very good thing. Coverage for 5 million uninsured children who do not have health insurance now is a very good thing. Improvements in last years welfare reform bill to take care of some of the problems of our Immigrant population is a good thing. This Is not a perfect budget. it is a compromise. And as I say. neither side is completely happy.
