I was talking in fact explicitly not about AFDC recipients. because I do not believe that a bill that passed less than a year ago and has not gone into effect yet is the major factor affecting them. I was talking. as the gentleman quite understandably ignored. about the parts of his bill that I believe victimize legal immigrants. and which contrary to his views. Is being repudiated by the Republican leadership and the President. The gentleman totally misstated my remarks.
