Today marks Pbe 82nd anniversary of the beginning of the Armenian Genocide. an event that foreshadowed many dark moments to come in this century. In its final days. the Ottoman Empire sys. lematicatly exterminated 1.5 million Armenians. and the forcibly deported 500.000 more. These tragic events began on April 24. 1915 when leaders of Pu Armenian community livIN In Constantinople ware arrested and killed. Tragically the genocide latsd for eight years until 1923 and the Intemalional community never mounted any serious effort to bring i1 to an end.
