Well. we do not know that. But the public deserves to know. because they deserve to know when the President of the United States is speaking to them. whether or not the President of the United States is speaking truthfully. or whether he is involving himself in a straegy intentionally aimed at deceiving people. Now. when the President came to California and promised to help us stem the flood of illegal immigration. people took his word for it. And the fact that today we see that the President is threatening to close down the government unless we gut our immigration bill. well. some people in public office. I think all people in public office. deserve a little bit of leeway. and they deserve to be given the benefit of the doubt. It has happened a lot with this President. and I think it is becoming very difficult for people to give him the benefit of the doubt.
