Student loan checks for student loans are being revoked because of mistakes in the Social Security system. even though these students are U.S. citizens and their only crime is being born of Asian/Pacific or Hispanic ethnic origin. It pains me to think that we have come to a place in our society that we must single out anyone who looks different or speaks differently and make them secondclass citizens in this Nation. This is where this immigration bill takes us. Mr. Speaker. many of us want to tackle the problem of illegal immigration in this country. but not at the expense of the rights of legal immigrants and citizens. I urge my colleagues to vote against this meanspirited bill.
