They lose the protections that would come out of the pilot programs to protect American workersand we are talking about American workersthat may trace their ancestry to different parts of the world. But because of the color of their skin. or their accent. or their appearance. they are the subjects of discrimination. Discrimination which we know exists because GAO has documented it in the past. We are interested in trying to deal with illegal immigration. those who are going to be a burden on the American taxpayer. But we are also interested in trying to protect American workers. And these are the provisions tha. would have helped to protect American workers. and these are the provisions which have been changed or removed altogether.
