Session #104 · 1995–97

Speech #1040260063

Mr. Speaker. I thank the ranking member of our Committee on the Judiciary for yielding me this time. I rise in support of the motion to instruct the conferees. It is a funny situation when we deal with a provision in the bill that is the critical increase in the number of wage and hour inspectors in order to make immigration reform meaningful by giving us the resources to go to the work site where the big problem is. and the Senate bill provided. I believe. 200. 300. The House bill provided 150. It was taken out by a floor amendment that had nothing to do with the issue of wage and hour inspectors.
