Long before I got here you were very much interested in this issue. and you are the chairman of the Human Rights Caucus. ranking member of that caucus for many. many years. and I know your interest in human rights. and this is a human rights issue. It is an issue of right versus wrong. but also very much so human rights. and I know that it is something that you have been greatly concerned with. As a result. Mr. Speaker. of Turkeys illegal invasion. 1.619 people are missing. Among these missing. five are U.S. citizens. In addition. more than 200.000 Cypriots were forcibly driven from their homes and are now refugees. a piople without a homo. To date. Turkey continues its illegal occupation of the northern portion of Cyprus. maintaining more than 35.000 troops and some 80.000 settlers there.
