In our State we reduced the welfare load because we provided health care for those that needed it. That substantially reduced the need for welfare in our State of Minnesota. We should not be targeting the legal immigrants. As and I said. half the dollar savings in this measure is cut from legal immigrant benefit programs. Illegal immigrants are not eligible for much of anything today. so let us not confuse the two. Plus. we ought to maintain the State effort. I trust my State will maintain their effort. but I do not know. given the pressures that Minnesota will go through and be under.
