The new budget is more of the scorched earth policy that started with the majority takeover in 1994. It is extreme. it is revolutionary. it is harmful. People will literally die as a result of what is being done in this area. In education and training. for example. the details can become important. depending on where you sit. Goals 2000. which they proposed to eliminate last time. is again eliminated in this budget. Innovative education programs. strategies. grants. eliminated. Bilingual and immigrant education programs are eliminated. New funding for Perkins loans. studentcentered grants are eliminated. Howard University funding is eliminated.
