President. I thank the Senator for raising this issue. I think it is important to note that at the present time. a number of individuals who have applied for asylum on the basis of this kind of action have already been granted asylum and had deportation delayed. But I think it is something that we ought to get into in much greater degree. I welcome the fact that this Issue has been brought up. and we will work with the Senator from Ohio to try and find out how all of us can find an adequate solution to what is a barbaric practice.
