Indeed. she became known as Miss Chris. the First Lady of Highlandtown. And. indeed. she was a first lady. Miss Chris was an extraordinary woman beloved by her family and friends. She was part of that immigrant generationher father was born in Polandthat built our Nation over the early decades of this century. She reflected that determination of spirit. courage and strength of character. which are exactly the values we hold out to our young people to emulate today.
