I thank the gentleman for yielding. Mr. Chairman. I strongly support this amendment. I think everybody needs to understand what it Is. It is simply a period of time during which the committee. the subcommittee. in particular. on Immigration. can listen to all sides of this and make a reasoned decision. There are a lot of folks in rural areas who have been telling us there is still a nurse shortage. they do need the foreign nurse program for that purpose. In some of the urban areas. the nursing organizations are very concerned. because they say they do not need it any more.
