Turkey did not officially recognize the Independence of Greece until 1829. when the Treaty of Andreanople was signed. The Independence Day festivities celebrate Greeces enormous contributions to the arts. literature. and legal institutions of the Western World. For GreekAmericans. it Is a celebration of their commitment to hard work and their success and recognition within this country. The achievements of GreekAmericans exemplify the greatness of our Nations immigrant heritage. Their diligence and commitment has fostered their success in a wide variety of businesses. which have contributed to our Nations prosperity. The Hudson Chapter #108 of the Order of A.H.E.P.A. has helped unite the GreekAmerican community throughout Hudson County and the State of New Jersey.
