Mr. Chairman. not coming from a State that has a serious immigration problem. I have tried to listen and learn about this Issue. I have been particularly intrigued by this amendment because I was a teacher before I came to Congress. will be a teacher after I leave. and have served on the Education Committee while I have been here. It seems to me it is inherently wrong and the majority of the American people would not want to kick any kid out of school. including the child of parents who have illegally come to this country. But let us all understand something.
