Mr. Chairman. I would like to comment to my colleague from California. too. We will hear the business community say that if the Illegals are here. it is better if they have a Job than to just be hanging around unemployed. and so there are always excuses for encouraging the violation of immigration law. Mr. Chairman. my high school. Mara Vista. had many people coming to it that lived in Mexico. crossed the border and came to our high school. That was against the law. and it is against the law. But the absurdity of the Federal system. if we do not approve this amendment. is that it will be illegal to come into the country legally and go to a public school. but it will be legal to enter the country illegally. and then they have a guaranteed right to go to public education. and this is a $1.5 billion price tag to the people of California.
