I am not so sure that they have talked to the people that live along the frontier of this country and watch people jumping fences. violating their jurisdiction. but only being told that. well. this is a Federal issue and so local government should not be involved in the issue. In fact. I would ask. Mr. Chairman. that some of these people may be interested in the fact that 2 years ago. while there was flooding along the Tijuana River Valley that citizens were told that their local law enforcement should not intervene and stop illegal aliens from walking through their areas while looting was going on because somehow this might violate the jurisdictional lines between the two.
