A few years ago when I was practicing law. I represented a client whose family was being harassed by an individual who was unlawfully in the United States and who also was engaged in unlawful. unauthorized employment in the United States as well. After a great deal of effort we finally got through to a representative of the Immigration Service who had authority to act on this and requested that they send an investigator down to Roanoke. VA. 240 miles from the office here in Washington. to investigate this. We assured them that we had very substantial evidence to indicate this individual was in the country without authorization.
