I was reading in this mornings Washington Post an article by James Glassman which talks about provisions that we have considered in the Judiciary Committee under immigration. Some of us. including myself. do not believe that we ought to fire American workers who are qualified to permit American companies to hire foreigners who have no better skills or equal skills and then drop their cost in wages. So you have American workers who have lost their jobs. the company has lower wages. they compete with American firms. and those firms go out of business.
