What will these people do? This bill does not answer those questions. because it does nothing to promote effective programs for moving larger numbers of families off welfare and into work. This bill cruelly discriminates against legal immigrants. punishing those who contribute to our economy and volunteer to serve in our military and whom we require to pay taxes. The overwhelming majority of legal immigrants support themselves without any government assistance. They contribute $25 billion more in annual taxes than they receive in benefits. Their goal is not to arrive in this country to be supported by it but to contribute to this country.
