The expectations of the people and the leaders there of the United States is that we will be much more involved in the cost. the payment. and the providing of different activities than what the peace accord calls for. Some of them feel that we will be responsible as Americans to pay for many things that we have no responsibility to do. The refugees. the rebuilding. the building of the infrastructure. the paying for the free elections and for the many commissions that this peace accord calls for. they expect the American people. the American taxpayers. to support all of these functions. Yet that is not the intent of the accord and the American people are not expected to do so. These confusing understandings from the leaders are not going to lead to a peaceful condition there.
