They do undercover drug work with the Byrne grant money. The arrests have gone up by 400 percent because of the cooperative efforts we have here. We could not do it without the Byrne Memorial grant. What we are asking for underneath the Mollohan amendment is take 10 percent. $30 million of the $300 million. put it in the Byrne grants. and it still leaves $270 million for incarceration of illegal aliens. In Michigan that means $1 million more we have to work with under the DARE program and undercover drug teams. The Mollohan amendment makes sense from a law enforcement point of view.
