Im afraid that history will record the inescapable truth that shortly after achieving freedom and democracy in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. the West failed to act when a brutal dictator perpetrated mass genocide in Europe. Lets make no mistake about it: We are here because of a lack of political will on the part of our Western Allies. Our Nations response has been plagued by selfdoubt and a lack of resolve. But there should be no doubt that what is happening to the Moslems in Bosnia is genocide. The statistics are staggering--over 200.000 people dead and more than 2 million refugees. But statistics dont bleed. people do. And while we hem and haw.
