We met some of these extraordinary youth who in physical appearance were not unlike the children I see everyday in my district. But in their relationship to their society and their government. these youth experience a world ot difference. The Ethiopian youth and their families are the beneficiaries of the same absorption program that Israel provides for all Immigrants. But according to the Minister In charge of absorption. the government is more flexible and goes much further to nurture the most productive possible integration of Ethiopians from a rural and pastoral culture into the modern culture of their new homeland. Certainly the 250 Ethiopian youth at the Yemen Orde residential school which we visited received every possible form of academic. personal. and social assistance.
