It is a sad story of foreign policy that is a nonstarter and mishandling of the HIV/AIDSinfected foreigners that is a dangerous aboutface. During the next 10 days another 140 Haitians with the deadly HIV virus will be brought to somewhere in the United States. These latest arrivals. on top of the 10.000 already here allegedly processing for asylum status. are the consequences of the Clinton administrations indecision and failure to control the controllable. Unfortunately. it is the Haitian people. those with and without AIDS. who are suffering. and the people of the host States like Florida and New York who pay disproportionately the price of services. some $27.5 billion over the next 5 years plus the cost of AIDS victims estimated at $100.000 each. Now we read that some Haitians diagnosed HIVpositive claim the doctors are wrong. that this is just politics.
