Session #103 · 1993–95

Speech #1030028541

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Cesar Chavezone of the most successful civil rights leaders in the history of the United States who was once described by Senator Robert Kennedy as "one of the heroic figures of our time." As you know. Mr. President. Cesar Chavez inspired millions of Americans with his determination to improve the living and working conditions of migrant farm workers and their children who were once referred to as the invisible people of our Nation. Yet. Cesar Chavez dedicated his life to serving all economically disadvantaged and politically disenfranchised people throughout the United States.
