This is probably one of the most tragic incidents of the 20th century. April 24. 1915. marks the beginning of the massacres. On this day. hundreds of Armenian leaders were exiled and murdered. Shortly after this. thousands of Armenians were deported from their homeland and placed in Turkish and Kurdish homes and harems. They were sent on marches through the Syrian Desert. where they were severely mistreated. Surviving refugees escaped to different countries. which separated families and scattered them all over the globe. Some would want to forget this tragedy. it would be much easier to bury it in the past. We cannot ignore what the Armenians went through.
