I have hospitals in upstate New York. small hospitals that are presently taking care of as many as 300 AIDS patients. Three hundred times $100.000 is backbreaking on that hospital. Then you look at the large metropolitan areas around the New York/ New Jersey area. where they have thousands and thousands and thousands of AIDS patients to deal with. Now. last year. because of the ban that is in effect today that we are trying to keep in effect. we turned back over 600 immigrants who were applying for permanent resident visas in this country600. There are presently 270 Haitians being held in Guantanamo Naval Base. Cuba. who are afflicted with that disease.
