Session #103 · 1993–95

Speech #1030012576

I certainly thank the gentleman for his time. Mr. Speaker. I want to thank Congressman BLILEY and certainly Congressman WAXMAN for their support of this instruction to the conferees. You know. Mr. Speaker and my colleagues. it really is terribly. terribly important. Never. never in the history of immigration law in this country have we knowingly admitted sources of contagious diseases to come across our borders and into our country. Lifting the present restrictions will not only place healthy American citizens at higher risk but it will also strain existing resources that are already so terribly overtaxed. We are going to be debating that all next week.
