They come here for the precious right to work. That is what is happening in America. In many cases. this is all that they seek. all that they ever soughtnot really asylum. because asylum means that you are like a refugee. and a refugee is a person fleeing persecution or having a wellfounded fear of persecution based on race. religion. national origin. membership in a political or social organization. fearing for yourself. So these people come to seek not asylum. but the ability to work in the United States. Manyif not most--of them never show up for their hearings. they simply disappear into American society.
