I do not see anything compassionate whatsoever about that. I would have never even thought about skin color until the Senator from Massachusetts made that statement. I had in my statement. in my facts. that there are 215 Haitian refugees that are HIV positive that are waiting to come into this country. They are refugees when they come into this country. They are automatically eligible for Medicaid. I do not know if my colleagues know that. but refugees. when they come in and seek asylum in the United States. are automatically eligible for welfare packages including Medicaid. I did not realize that until recently. I am just saying I am concerned about the cost.
