There are several pieces of this amendment which are mine and there are several pieces which are Senator KASEBAUMs. Also. I would like to thank Senator DOLE who helped make some constructive changes as well. This amendment would do four things. One. it would codify the present provision in law. and I will just read it: Notwithstanding any other provision in regulations or directives concerning the exclusion of aliens on health related grounds. infection with HIV. the human immunodeficiency virus. shall constitute a communicable disease of public health significance for purposes of section 212 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. That is present practice. That has been the practice for several years.
