Speaker. it should not go unrecognized that recently the Department of Justice filed a complaint to revoke the citizenship of Jozsef Szendl. a suspected Nazi collaborator who is accused of taking part in the persecution of unarmed Jewish civilians and others while a member of a paramilitary groop. the socalled Royal Hungarian Gendarmerie. The complaint. Issued by the Justice Departments Office of Special Investigations and the U.S. Attorneys Office. states that Jozsef Szendl voluntarily joined the murderous organization that was responsible for the enslavement and deportation of Hungarys Jewish population during World War II. The Gendarmerie deported between 16.000 and 18.000 Jewish civilians to Poland where the SS shot them to death.
