Mr. President. I rise today to honor the 120th anniversary of the St. Adalberts Aid Society which serves the needs of the Polish community in Grand Rapids. MI. This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the societys building. the Fifth Street Hall. which serves as a landmark in the city and a symbol of the societys enduring good works. Established on November 2. 1872. by Polish immigrants. St. Adalberts Aid Seciety remains the oldest Polish society serving a Michigan community. Founded before the existence of a Polish Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. the societys membership helped construct the citys first Polish parishChurch of St.
