To that end. it is unfortunate that this bill does not adequately fund the administrations Enterprise for the Americas Initiative. which is meant to strengthen the economies of Latin American nations. where the United States has a substantial trading relationship. Eastern European nations such as Poland and Czechoslovakia are struggling to achieve political and economic stability. and those nations deserve our assistance. Israel is moving forward in historic peace talks with its Arab neighbors. while simultaneously absorbing hundreds of thousands of immigrants. Now more than ever.
