Two million adults earned college credit from public TV in the last decade with an increase of 7 percent this year. Fully 819 hours of television credit courses are being delivered this year. At the preschool level. public TV will soon be providing training for Headstart teachers via satellite. Most of the recipients of this instruction will be in remote Alaskan villages and in native American and migrant labor populations. This is a further indication of how public TV can break down educational barriers.
