Mr. Speaker. I rise today to pay tribute to an exceptional woman whom I greatly admire. Mrs. Joan Pinchuk. Mrs. Pinchuk. in recognition of her tireless efforts on behalf of the refugee population of Los Angeles County. will receive this years Public Service Award. This award will be presented to her at a dinner on Thursday. May 28. 1992. hosted by the United Cambodian Community. Inc. Born in Chicago. IL. and raised in Miami. FL. Joan moved to California and graduated from California State University at Los Angeles where she received her bachelors degree. Soon alter Joan embarked upon a career as a social worker in South Central Los Angeles for Los Angeles County.
