Mr. Speaker. I rise today to congratulate a special organization In my district. On April 25. 1992. the Danish Athletic Club. Inc.. celebrated the occasion of their 100th anniversary. In 1892. Danish Immigrants united together and formed the Danish Athletic Club in Brooklyn. NY. At its Inception. their aim was to promote and participate in sports activities. However. over the years. the Danish Club broadened its scope and objectives to promote and enhance not only sports activities but also humanitarianism and domestic brotherhood. The early members recognized their social responsibility and were the principal force In founding the first Danish Old Peoples Home In New York State.
