OH In the House of Representatives for 28 years. passed away yesterday at the age of 87. With his passing. our Nation has lost a great and distinguished leader. Michael Felghan. who practiced law in Cleveland. entered the House in 1943. having served as a State legislator from Cuyahoga County. In the Congress. he developed a reputation as a hard worker and outspoken advocate on behalf of his constituency. Feighan served as chairman of the Immigration and Nationality Subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee. He was the author of the 1965 Immigration Reform Act which retired national origin quotas. During his tenure In Congress. Michael Felghan was also known for his staunch opposition to communism.
